    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a values-aligned Policy Organizer to join our growing team. This role offers exceptional exposure to high-level policy work and client relationships - ideal for someone early in their career ready to take on significant responsibility and learn by doing. You'll work closely with senior leadership while building expertise across multiple policy areas, developing relationships with government leaders at all levels, and making real impact from day one.

    Core Responsibilities

    Relationship & Coalition Management

    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with elected officials and their staff

    • Participate in client meetings and serve as a key point of contact

    • Support coalition-building efforts and manage multi-stakeholder initiatives

    • Represent clients at relevant events and meetings as needed

    • Travel to Springfield during legislative session as needed (travel expenses fully reimbursed)

    Strategic Policy Work

    • Conduct comprehensive policy analysis and review proposed legislation

    • Coordinate and schedule meetings with legislators and key stakeholders

    • Synthesize feedback from diverse stakeholder groups, including both supporters and opposition

    • Generate detailed reports and briefing materials for clients and internal use

    • Support database management and help create materials that translate complex information into clear, actionable insights

    What We're Looking For

    Essential Qualifications

    • Strong writing skills across formats - from detailed policy analysis to punchy messaging

    • Exceptional social skills with ability to build relationships and navigate political environments

    • Experience in coalition management - or similar experience

    • Strong analytical capacity with ability to synthesize complex information quickly, with regard to policy and political analysis

    • Quick learner with intellectual curiosity and drive to understand complex policy issues

    • Collaborative mindset with willingness to take direction and handle both strategic and administrative tasks

    • Self-motivated with genuine commitment to advancing progressive policy and social justice

    • Critical thinking skills with strategic instincts for when to push and when to listen

    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

    • Interest in public policy and legislative processes

    Preferred Experience

    • Background in public affairs, government relations, or policy analysis

    • Experience in research, communications, or project management

    • Understanding of legislative processes and stakeholder engagement

    • Organizing experience (volunteer or professional), particularly identifying and mobilizing around self-interest

    • Proficiency with technology and willingness to learn new systems

This role offers exceptional exposure to high-level policy work and client relationships - ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in progressive advocacy. You'll work closely with senior staff while learning about coalition building, legislative processes, and strategic communications.

    Core Responsibilities

    Research & Analysis Support

    • Conduct research on policy issues and legislative developments

    • Assist with policy analysis and review of proposed legislation

    • Help prepare briefing materials and reports for clients

    • Support database management and information organization

    Coalition & Communications Support

    • Assist with coalition meeting coordination and follow-up

    • Help maintain relationships with stakeholder organizations

    Administrative & Project Support

    We are seeking a Part-Time Social Media Manager to join our digital team, reporting to our Digital Media Manager. This role is perfect for an agency-experienced professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and has their finger on the pulse of social media trends. You'll manage content across multiple client accounts, turning around creative, engaging posts quickly while maintaining brand consistency and quality.

    Core Responsibilities

    Content Strategy & Creation

    • Develop and execute social media strategies for multiple client accounts

    • Create engaging content across platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn)

    • Design graphics and visual content using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite

    • Write compelling copy that translates policy issues into accessible, shareable content

    • Plan and schedule content calendars aligned with campaign goals

    Community Management & Engagement

    • Monitor social media channels and respond to comments and messages

    • Engage with coalition partners, supporters, and relevant organizations

    • Identify and leverage trending topics and hashtags relevant to our causes

    • Build relationships with influencers and advocates in progressive spaces

    • Track engagement metrics and adjust strategies accordingly

    Campaign Support

    • Support rapid-response communications during legislative sessions and campaigns

    What We're Looking For

    Essential Qualifications

    • 2+ years of agency social media experience managing multiple client accounts

    • Strong visual design skills and proficiency with design tools

    • Excellent writing abilities with talent for making complex issues accessible

    • Deep understanding of social media platforms and their unique audiences

    • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish preferred but not required)

    • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and meet deadlines

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience with advocacy campaigns or political communications

    • Knowledge of Illinois politics and policy landscape
