Andrew Herrera
President & Lobbyist
Andrew Herrera is a communications strategist, organizer, and lobbyist with a decade of experience in building campaigns, electing candidates, and passing policies that deliver real impact for working people.
Andrew brings a unique perspective by combining his background in strategic communications with grassroots organizing experience and policy chops, specializing in Latino outreach and cross-cultural policy engagement to ensure working families from all communities have a voice in policy development.Over the past five years, his MBE-certified public affairs firm, Herrera Strategy, has become a key player in progressive politics by partnering with worker centers, labor unions, and progressive advocacy groups to punch above their weight and deliver results for working families.
His approach is rooted in the concept of "right time engagement", teeing up stories to land with maximum impact to create the gaps that skillful organizing can exploit to win major victories. Andrew regularly leads coalition tables and has increasingly partnered with national organizations to execute complex advocacy campaigns. This collaborative approach has enabled him to lead winning campaigns delivering equal pay for equal work for temp workers across Illinois, coal ash remediation for Indiana families, immigration resources for non-citizen residents, and millions in funding for community legal services.
He holds a master's degree in public policy from the Harris School at the University of Chicago and a bachelor's in Spanish and Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Hannah Herrera
Creative Director & Operations
Hannah is an art director and design strategist who specializes in creating brand identities for progressive organizations and political campaigns. As co-founder of Herrera Strategy, she develops visual communications that support social justice initiatives across Illinois.
Her design work has been crucial in several key campaigns, including the successful citywide campaign for Cesar Guerrero in Joliet, where she created comprehensive design materials including direct mail, paid ads, web, and social media designs. Her strategic approach helped Guerrero become the first Latino to win a citywide election in the area.
Hannah has designed branding for multiple worker advocacy organizations, including Warehouse Workers for Justice, Just Transition Northwest Indiana, and the Chicago Workers Collaborative. She’s also done the brand design for campaigns such as the Temp Worker Fairness and Safety Act. and direct mail designs for several political candidates, including Leader Theresa Mah.
With a studio art background from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Hannah brings a creative perspective to political and organizational communication. Through Herrera Strategy, she continues to use design as a tool for platforming important social and political campaigns.
Ada Humphrey
Senior Account Executive
Ada is a seasoned communications professional with extensive marketing experience supporting a wide range of community-based clients, from small businesses to leading Illinois nonprofits. With a BA in Marketing from DePaul University, she brings both academic foundation and practical expertise to creating strategic, visually compelling campaigns that not only drive engagement but also inspire compassion and action for social justice.
As Communications Coordinator for Warehouse Workers for Justice, Ada led all external communications for the workers center, including a comprehensive website redesign that strengthened brand awareness and credibility. Under her leadership, public engagement via social channels grew by 300% over her tenure.
Since joining Herrera Strategy, Ada has played a leading role in redeveloping and launching public engagement campaigns that have been pivotal in informing immigrant communities and low-wage workers about their rights and helping to secure meaningful organizing and policy wins. Her work blends creativity with purpose, ensuring every campaign connects communities, amplifies voices, and sparks meaningful change.
Luis Castelló
Communications Strategist
Luis Roberto Castelló is a bilingual communications strategist with nearly two decades of experience crafting campaigns that move culture, build brand affinity, and put powerful stories at the center of national conversations. Born and raised in Mexico City and based in Chicago, Luis brings a rare combination of multicultural fluency, media expertise, and creative instinct to every project he touches. He has led communications for some of the most recognizable brands in the country including Red Bull, Miller Lite, Coors Light, Sol Beer, and Bellator Fighting Championships.
At Herrera Strategy, Luis applies that same storytelling firepower to advocacy and civic engagement, partnering with organizations including the Illinois Latino Agenda, the Illinois Coalition for Human Rights, and the Resurrection Project. His deep roots in multicultural marketing and years of experience leading Latine-focused campaigns make him a trusted voice in cross-cultural communications: one who knows how to meet communities where they are, build authentic connections, and drive real engagement around the issues that matter most.
Luis holds a BA in Marketing Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Columbia College Chicago. He is also a trained improviser performing with Clued In Improv: The Improvised Murder Mystery, Hitch*Cocktails: The Improvised Thriller, and ESCANDALO.
